I wasn’t on vacation.
I don’t know why I stopped writing.
I’m back now.
This isn’t a poem so don’t expect it to rhyme.

If you search for “train” on Google Images, this post shows up as number 9 out of 77,400,000 results. Pretty crazy, huh? I started to notice how many people I had visit my site because they googled, “train,” so I had to find out where I stood in the rankings. If you came here through Google Images, sorry, I don’t sell train stuff and I no longer live next to train tracks. In fact, I hate trains. I hate the horns, how they slow down traffic and even the band that’s named after one. Maybe I should start a support group for people who used to live by trains. We’ll call it, “People Who Hate Trains and Can’t Stand to Hear Their Stupid Horns,” or “PWHTACSTHTSH” for short.

I have a problem. I oversleep. Too much. It’s not that I am lazy, it’s just that sometimes I sleep through my alarm clocks (yes, I have two - I told you it was a problem). I really don’t know why I oversleep. I tried to look up my problem on WebMD and all they told me was that I was going to die sooner. Turns out, too much sleep is as bad for you as moderate obesity. Good thing I’m skinny or I might die like 4 times faster. I’ve never really found any good news on WebMD. Once, I convinced myself that I had at least two diseases. If you click around on that little human diagram long enough, you start discovering some whacked out illnesses!
I had to leave the site and resolved that I need God’s help on this one. I did have success today, though. I woke up at 6:30 a.m. and stayed up. Major success. Now that I’ve blogged about it, you can keep me accountable.
My name is Stephen Lechner, and I’m a recovering oversleeper.
I got back late last night from FUEL, our Every Nation National Ministers Conference. I got to meet some great people and reconnected with some friends. Good stuff. Ed Stetzer spoke yesterday morning and I thought I would share two of my favorite quotes from him.
Most churches won’t change until the pain of staying the same becomes greater than the pain of change.
Holiness is separation from sin, not separation from sinners.
Ed was incredible. If you don’t know much about him, check out his site and then read his books.

Today I am on the road to Nashville and will be in a conference, so I thought it would be a good time for some link love. If you’ve noticed, I have a few of my favorite links listed on the right side of my blog but haven’t given you the chance to post yours. So, I’m going to create a links page where I will post your blog and we can all check out the cool things you’re writing about. If you want to be included, link to my blog and then leave a comment for me to add you to my links page.

Yesterday my car overheated and it’s going to cost more to fix the problem than what the car is worth. Womp, womp. So now I’m in the process of car hunting so that I can get around. It’s a very exciting and frustrating process. I’ve only had one car my whole life and now she’s gone.
How many cars have you been through?
