Last night, I was working late to finish up this thing when I realize that I hadn’t eaten dinner yet. It was 11:00 p.m. and I’m hungry. What to eat? Everything else nearby is closed except for Taco Bell (shudder) and McDonald’s (double-shudder). Gross. I drag myself to Taco Bell and get 3 soft tacos. Halfway through I remember why I don’t eat there. Because I’ve never taken a liking to DOG FOOD. I’m pretty sure they only use grade-E, but edible, meat. Please pass the hot sauce.
What’s one fast food place you won’t go near?

I got this email today that reminded me of Baskin Robbins 31-cent scoop night. At the bottom it said there was a maximum of 10 scoops per person so I had this cool idea to get a 10 scoop cone and blog about it. However, when I got to BR, they only let me get three so…no cool picture to show. I did get three scoops of Lime Daiquiri for only a dollar so I can’t complain. If you could get 10 scoops, what flavors would they be?
Didn’t get 10 scoops but I think I got a hangover.

Today, Reggie (our college campus director) and I had lunch together. He told me of a good Korean restaurant near his house called Golden Garden. I’m always up for trying new foods and experiencing different cultures so I thought it would be fun. So I pull up and it looks really dodgy. Like, restaurant, lounge, then liquor store. There was no garden made of gold or anything shiny that closely resembled it. We go in, sit down and it’s a lot better than the outside portrays. I start looking through the menu and I see this:
Hmm. A steamed skate. Would that be a soggy shoe with wheels? Pass.

Nice. Hot spicy soup with intestines. Who’s intestines? Pass.
I’m beginning to lose hope when Reggie points out a fried rice dish with beef. Sounds pretty good. Our food was accompanied by all of these Kimchi dishes and it turned out to be really tasty. I did however stay away from the little dried fish. I don’t even like the normal big ones.

Today was a pretty chill day. I can’t remember the last time I had a free Saturday where I wasn’t rushing to complete a job before Sunday (or the last time I used “chill” like I just did). Needless to say, it was a much needed time of rest. I was cleaning some stuff in my room and I came across two of the most awesome candy bars in the world, Cadbury Top Deck and Crunchie. I stocked up on these “slap-yo-mama” bars when I was in South Africa. Is there a better candy bar? I submit that there is not. And the next time you happen to make a trip to…say… South Africa, then pick up one or two of these babies.
I will devour these while I do my taxes. Sweet!
