Viva Voce

Most of you probably think I get paid to sit around and think of stage designs all day since that is all I ever seem to post anymore. My official job title is “Creative Arts Director” which means I’m involved in a lot of things but I also get to create all of our series graphics, videos, etc. This latest bumper video was a lot of fun to make and is from our series “Viva Voce” which is Latin for “With Living Voice.” One of my favorite points from this past Sunday was that God is, always has been and forever will be, about LIFE. Amazing stories still coming in about changed lives and new commitments to Christ! Enjoy the video…

Stage Design: Battlefield

We’re tackling the subject of purity at In Focus Church this month and the series title is, “Battlefield: The Battle for Purity in a Sex-Crazed World.” I wanted to stay away from the traditional camo/army/military look that you automatically associate with the word, “battlefield.” The fight for purity is every day and everyone is in it. We incorporated metal pipes with some tattered flags (burning them was the most fun). We then took Wildfire Luminescent Paint (UV paint) and painted the series graphic on our small stage risers as well as a phrase on the front of our stage. Add in some blacklights and it really pops; I was very pleased with how the effect turned out. I think everything turned out better than anything we hoped for. I love my team and the hard work (and many hours) they put in last week. We had a big crew that worked their butts off. Enjoy the pics (click to enlarge).

Battlefield Trailer

This was our first “action” trailer and I’m pretty pleased with how it turned out. I had one day to shoot and one day to edit. Talk about crunch! We even built our own steadicam which was pretty fun. Big thanks to Mark Pittman and Hamilton for helping with the shoot.

P.S. - New stage design this week so be looking for some pictures!
