I love change, I really do. I’ve never had a problem with it. Until now.
Last year I moved out of my parents house and in with my brother at his new house. I used to always say that I would never move in with my brother but that’s another story. This past year has been a lot of fun and I think we both came to realize that we actually could live under the same roof without killing each other. Well, he just got married last weekend and now I’m living in a new place on the other side of town. For the first time in my life it feels like I’m on my own and I have to admit, I haven’t liked it. I understand this isn’t a huge change but it’s definitely a transition. For now, I’ll just blog about it and hope that it passes soon because I still miss my old place.
Have you been through any recent changes or transitions?

Yeah, I hear ya. I feel very in-between. After I left for college my cousin moved into our house and into my room, which is great most of the time. But it means that when I’m back “home,” I kind of live out of a suitcase, and I don’t have too many friends are here anymore. But when I’m at school…I’m constantly moving. From dorm to apartment to different apartment, and home at almost every vacation.
I’d rather feel settled than in transition all the time. But I’m sure it’ll pass soon enough!

I completely sympathize with you. Although, I lived at home until I got married, so it was extremely difficult to adjust. I would cry every night for weeks, and my poor husband thought he was the reason.
It will pass though, and soon you’ll find yourself wondering why you felt that way in the first place. Maybe once you’ve lived in your new place for a while, it will feel more like “home” and you won’t miss living with your bro…as much. I guess you never forget the first time you live on your own, especially when it’s with your sibling.
